Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Diego Bittencourt started the match with the kick off. Emílio Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alberto Garcia's late challenge caught a Liberia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alberto Garcia helped the player get up and apologised. After 24 played minutes Piranguassu AD got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Garcia. Rogério Castro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Felippe Moreno made a huge save. In the 31st minute, Liberia's Rogério Castro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. With a little luck, Piranguassu AD's Felippe Moreno got control of the ball when Rogério Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Emílio Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Liberia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emílio Ortiz couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Liberia booed when Piranguassu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidnei Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emílio Ortiz to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Emílio Ortiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Emílio Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Liberia fans jumped to their feet. Felippe Moreno was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Piranguassu AD's Clóvis da Silveira got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 82nd minute of the match Ciro de Queiroz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Felippe Moreno showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Emílio Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe Moreno having to interfere. Celsinho Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 91st play minutes Rogério Castro shot 7-0, a short shot which went by Felippe Moreno and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Ortiz in the 95th minute of play forced Piranguassu AD's goalkeeper Felippe Moreno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Emílio Ortiz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felippe Moreno was relentless in the 98th minute of the game.
