Spectators: 7251 (Terracing: 5440, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Maurício Mangueira started the match with the kick off. After 8 played minutes Alagoas got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Marques. Inácio Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurício Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Alagoas's zone, Agnaldo Mendes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inácio Tavares came out of the goal and Agnaldo Mendes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cido Alvarenga charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cido Alvarenga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 13 minutes into the game, one of Guayanazes SS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Gernando Barbosa, was totally fooled by Alagoas's Kléber Bittencourt, who 15 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 24th match minute, Alagoas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavinho Severo to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maurício Mangueira in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Inácio Tavares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute, Basílio Vasconcelos made a precise shot to the right of Inácio Tavares. Alagoas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After a rather tough play, Guayanazes SS's Maurício Mangueira got a free kick in the 34th minute. Guayanazes SS's Olgierd Rosen got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by André da Rocha in the 43rd minute of play forced Alagoas's goalkeeper Inácio Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Sandro Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Alagoas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandro Alcântara couldn't finish the play. Gernando Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Alcântara in the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Sandro Alcântara made the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes of play, Alagoas's Flavinho Severo made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gernando Barbosa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Basílio Vasconcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Inácio Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cido Alvarenga hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 62 minutes into the match, Guayanazes SS's goal looked a bit too open when Flavinho Severo came free, but Gernando Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 4-1 became the score in the 65th minute when Sandro Alcântara elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Inácio Tavares made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Maurício Mangueira sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Alagoas's zone, Agnaldo Mendes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inácio Tavares came out of the goal and Agnaldo Mendes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurício Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Basílio Vasconcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the match, Sandro Alcântara had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gernando Barbosa. Guayanazes SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sandro Alcântara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. 82 minutes into the match, Gilmar Marques notched a goal, 6-1, to the right of Guayanazes SS's Gernando Barbosa. Gernando Barbosa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Flavinho Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gernando Barbosa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandro Alcântara's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Maurício Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Inácio Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Alagoas's Inácio Tavares got control of the ball when Maurício Mangueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Alagoas players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
