An unexpectedly hard shot by Glauco Paiva in the 11th minute of play forced Rey de Copas's goalkeeper Valdomiro Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute Glauco Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdomiro Rossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Luís Gustavo Maciel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rey de Copas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Luís Gustavo Maciel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 42nd minute, Alan Baiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 45 minutes Rey de Copas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Erasmo Penha who took care of the corner kick. Sandro Bittencourt was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dudu da Costa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sandro Bittencourt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 51st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Valdomiro Rossi. Rey de Copas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Rey de Copas getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Alan Baiano hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the game, Dieguinho Salgado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rey de Copas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marrao EC the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of Rey de Copas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Marrao EC:s goal. When the match had been going on for 58 minutes, Marrao EC's Erasmo Penha got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Valdomiro Rossi. Luís Gustavo Maciel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute Luís Gustavo Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdomiro Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glauco Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdomiro Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glauco Paiva in the 71st minute of the match. In the 71st match minute, Rey de Copas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Baiano to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Glauco Paiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdomiro Rossi was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. 80 minutes into the match, Dudu da Costa notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Marrao EC's Gabriel Barros. Gabriel Barros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
