Spectators: 6657 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Anísio Urbano got the match started through his kick off. Danilo Machado made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Valdo Maia sent off a good shot on target. 9 minutes into the match, CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE's goal looked a bit too open when Gernando Baiano came free, but Danilo Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th match minute, Coqueiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Paes to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Trancoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ladislao Medero, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 21 played minutes Coqueiros got a freekick which was hit by Cássio de Souza. Ladislao Medero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Francisco Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Coqueiros fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! Cássio de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Anísio Urbano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Trancoso having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Cássio de Souza made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Coqueiros getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Kléber Toscano hit a great ball. Cássio de Souza hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the game, one of Coqueiros:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The score was 0-3 after a penalty in the 63rd minute, where CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE:s Oséas de Amaral tricked Coqueiros:s Francisco Trancoso with a difficult ball by the left post. In the 82nd minute, CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE's Ladislao Medero dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. A collision led to Coqueiros getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Cássio de Souza hit a great ball. Coqueiros's Francisco Trancoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anísio Urbano in the 88th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anísio Urbano in the 91st minute of play forced Coqueiros's goalkeeper Francisco Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Ladislao Medero could shoot a difficult shot in the 92nd minute, which Francisco Trancoso however easily saved by the left post. In the 92nd match minute, Coqueiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Paes to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Trancoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ladislao Medero went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. When the final whistle sounded CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Coqueiros.
