São Bernardo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonides Ciceron was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. São Bernardo's Tião Linares got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oswaldo Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. If Carlos Eduardo Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The wind increased when Leonides Ciceron made the kick off in the second half. Carlos Eduardo Porto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundo Ceresso having to interfere. Edmundo Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Eduardo Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Denílson Guerra cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Carlos Eduardo Porto really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Leonides Ciceron might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmundo Ceresso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonides Ciceron ran back to his position shaking his head. If Carlos Eduardo Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Canaã left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than São Bernardo.
