The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Edmílson Campidelis took the kick off in the first half of the match. Frederico da Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chicão Vale in the 3rd minute. After 5 minutes of play, Maricota SC's Paulo José Cearense made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Simão Trancoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Frederico da Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ulysses Tinoco in the 9th minute. Simão Trancoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the game, Chicão Vale cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. After having played for 44 minutes, Valdomiro Hermes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Everson United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdomiro Hermes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
