Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Pedro Paulo Magalhães started the match with the kick off. Frederico da Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Augusto Rezende in the 3rd minute. In the 7th minute, José Augusto Rezende ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frederico da Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, José Augusto Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oleo's supporters rose to their feet, but José Augusto Rezende was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frederico da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Léo Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo José Cearense in the 13th minute of play. Frederico da Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Augusto Rezende in the 20th minute. When Paulo José Cearense fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maricota SC's protests and gave Paulo José Cearense a yellow card for diving instead. José Augusto Rezendes short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Frederico da Costa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Frederico da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Paulo Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Augusto Rezende could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Frederico da Costa made a huge save. Frederico da Costa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but José Augusto Rezende showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 30 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo José Cearense in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Léo Paraibano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 35 minutes into the game, Luís Fábio Tinoco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oleo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maricota SC the free kick. After 35 played minutes Oleo got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fábio Tinoco. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo José Cearense in the 36th minute of play forced Oleo's goalkeeper Léo Paraibano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Augusto Rezende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Pedro Paulo Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Maricota SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Oleo:s goal. 3-0 came through a penalty shot after 47 played minutes, when Oleo:s Nestor Freitas calmly waited for Maricota SC:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Frederico da Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Magalhães in the 56th minute of play. Denílson Santana charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denílson Santana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 57th minute, Denílson Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that José Augusto Rezende's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frederico da Costa was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. José Augusto Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Frederico da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When José Augusto Rezende came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Oleo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Augusto Rezende couldn't finish the play. José Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léo Paraibano having to interfere. After having played for 77 minutes, José Augusto Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oleo's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Augusto Rezende was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute, Erasmo da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Maricota SC's zone, José Augusto Rezende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederico da Costa came out of the goal and José Augusto Rezende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Léo Paraibano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo José Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. When Ezequiel Araújo fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maricota SC's protests and gave Ezequiel Araújo a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Maricota SC! Cássio Neto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Léo Paraibano. Oleo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Oleo players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
