Felipe Brasil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kléber Berger went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. César Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Rodriguinho Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Barborema's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Matorin came free, but Rodriguinho Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barborema's Rodriguinho Cardoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by César Cosme in the 10th minute of play. When César Cosme came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Fortaleza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that César Cosme couldn't finish the play. In the 13th match minute, Barborema was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frédson de Castro to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Cosme in the 19th minute of play forced Barborema's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frédson de Castro hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Barborema's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Matorin came free, but Rodriguinho Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Barborema getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Donato Xavier hit a great ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Henrique Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortaleza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Matorin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henrique Matorin struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Rodriguinho Cardoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fortaleza. If Henrique Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of Fortaleza:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Barborema:s goal. In the 42nd minute there was a penalty for Barborema. Marquinhos de Souza stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Felipe Brasil. 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Kléber Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Brasil having to interfere. Fortaleza's Henrique Matorin got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rodriguinho Cardoso came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Fortaleza's César Cosme. But to his dismay, César Cosme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When Rafinha Ceresso fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barborema's protests and gave Rafinha Ceresso a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Barborema's Rafinha Ceresso got a free kick in the 76th minute. César Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Cardoso having to interfere. In the 82nd match minute, Fortaleza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Cosme to maneuver through the defense. Rodriguinho Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Matorin in the 87th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the game, Fortaleza's César Cosme nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodriguinho Cardoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Barborema were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
