Tales Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Maurinho Pontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olavo Hoffmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuri Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Maurinho Pontes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tales Simões's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. After some careless play in the Andreza SS defense, Tales Simões kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurinho Pontes. The Andreza SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurinho Pontes should have stopped the shot. After 32 played minutes, Cipotanea's Dé Perez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Maurinho Pontes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cipotanea reached it. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Yuri Leite made a kick off. The supporters of Andreza SS booed when Cipotanea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durval Rossi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 53 minutes, Guga Santana made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. In the 85th minute Anísio Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Andreza SS's goalkeeper Maurinho Pontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tales Simões. Maurinho Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anísio Medeiros in the 88th minute of play. Andreza SS's Maurinho Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anísio Medeiros in the 89th minute of play. Andreza SS's Yuri Leite got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Yuri Leite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Anísio Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
