Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Corinthians FC's Carlos Fernando Pombal started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Guga Arósio came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Corinthians FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guga Arósio couldn't finish the play. 7 minutes into the game, Christian Mesquita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corinthians FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ara the free kick. After 7 played minutes Corinthians FC got a freekick which was hit by Christian Mesquita. José Vítor Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Otávio de Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 24 minutes, Guga Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corinthians FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guga Arósio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fernando Pombal in the 30th minute of play forced Ara's goalkeeper Noel Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ara's Yuri Meira got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute of the match Márcio Gerber shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Noel Correia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 39 minutes, Sebastião Tinoco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ara and the Corinthians FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ara's Noel Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernando Pombal in the 43rd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miguel de Brito stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Carlos Fernando Pombal reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Noel Correia. The goal made the score 0-1. Noel Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 57 played minutes Ara got a freekick which was hit by Sebastião Tinoco. With a little luck, Ara's Noel Correia got control of the ball when Guga Arósio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Otávio de Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Vítor Campidelis in the 63rd minute of the match. Renatinho Albuquerque charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Renatinho Albuquerque the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel de Brito in the 88th minute of play forced Corinthians FC's goalkeeper Otávio de Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Fernando Pombal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Noel Correia came out and tried to block the shot, but Carlos Fernando Pombal slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 95th minute. The Ara supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Corinthians FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Corinthians FC.
