He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Criciúma E.C.'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Jonas Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Lucas Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Diogo Brodel fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Criciúma E.C.'s protests and gave Diogo Brodel a yellow card for diving instead. After 12 played minutes Criciúma E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Brodel. If Eduardo Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelinho Tande hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Lucas Vinhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Bittencourt in the 19th minute of the match. The supporters of Tupe FC booed when Criciúma E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Criciúma E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Bittencourt came free, but Lucas Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute Eduardo Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tupe FC's Sydney Zonta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Tupe FC from getting a goal against them. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Tupe FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eduardo da Silveira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 72nd minute Eduardo da Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sydney Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 75 minutes of play, Criciúma E.C.'s Eduardo da Silveira made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
