Norberto Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Michel Furtado charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Michel Furtado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th minute, Michel Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Giovani Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sílvio Vasconcelos made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Zé Bittencourt sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Michel Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Granada F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Michel Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Vasconcelos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sílvio Vasconcelos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Michel Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Claudinho Carioca's late challenge caught a Granada F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
