Abelardo das Neves who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Oscar Valadares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. José Carlos Correia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Albertinho Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Valadares having to interfere. Luís Fernando Mineiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rafael Paraense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Durval Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 17 played minutes Virso Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Linhares. 23 minutes into the match, Albertinho Quintal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Oscar Valadares, 1-0. In the 26th minute Albertinho Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Valadares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When César Cosme fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Virso Futebol Clube's protests and gave César Cosme a yellow card for diving instead. César Cosme hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Oscar Valadares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Abelardo das Neves showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 30 minute of play. A hard shot 33 in the game by Abelardo das Neves from a close distance when the talented Oscar Valadares managed to make a qualified save. Virso Futebol Clube's players were relieved. In the 37th minute, Lomba Grande SC's Abelardo das Neves dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. 42 minutes into the game, Albertinho Quintal recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Oscar Valadares. Albertinho Quintal showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Fernando Mineiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Albertinho Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Valadares having to interfere. Abelardo das Neves scored 5-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oscar Valadares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Albertinho Quintal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oscar Valadares having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fernando Mineiro in the 58th minute of play forced Lomba Grande SC's goalkeeper Rafael Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 60 played minutes Virso Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Linhares. If Abelardo das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 66th minute, Albertinho Quintal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lomba Grande SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. José Carlos Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Virso Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Nelson Linhares hit a great ball. When Nelson Linhares fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Virso Futebol Clube's protests and gave Nelson Linhares a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Virso Futebol Clube's zone, Albertinho Quintal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Valadares came out of the goal and Albertinho Quintal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th match minute, Lomba Grande SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Naldo Neto to maneuver through the defense. Lomba Grande SC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
