After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Donato de Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Foz do Iguaçu's supporters rose to their feet, but Donato de Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Renato Vergílio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kiko Cunha hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Donato de Queiroz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Renato Vergílio having to make a save. Donato de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Renato Vergílio having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Tales Tróia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raimundo Xavier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kiko Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The audience was convinced that Donato de Queiroz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Renato Vergílio was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. In the 95th minute Kiko Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Xavier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Foz do Iguaçu had played much better football throughout.
