Foz do Iguaçu's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Hélio Barros scored to the left of an out of position Raimundo Xavier, making the score, 2-1. Donato de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davi Teles having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Foz do Iguaçu's Silvinho Pires sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Davi Teles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 3-3 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélio Barros to make the kick off. In the 59thth minute of the game Donato de Queiroz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Acaam's Davi Teles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Foz do Iguaçu's Chicão Monteiro got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Donato de Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Foz do Iguaçu's supporters rose to their feet, but Donato de Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Davi Teles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Foz do Iguaçu's Raimundo Xavier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléber Andrade in the 75th minute of play. Kléber Andrade charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kléber Andrade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kléber Andrade hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Raimundo Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Barros in the 84th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 98th minute by Gilson Alves got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Acaam fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Foz do Iguaçu were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
