Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Afonsinho Eger took the kick off in the first half of the match. Afonsinho Eger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonsinho Eger in the 8th minute of play forced Goias's goalkeeper André Vasconcelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Goias's Severino Pereira in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MI BR's goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, MI BR's Frank Fernandes got control of the ball when Severino Pereira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kléberson de Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. André Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Afonsinho Eger, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 21 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The André Vasconcelos was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The supporters of MI BR booed when Goias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fabrício Vergílio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Severino Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonsinho Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Goias's goal looked a bit too open when Afonsinho Eger came free, but André Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabrício Vergílio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Frank Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frank Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severino Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Severino Pereira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Frank Fernandes made a huge save. Anselmo Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. André Vasconcelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Afonsinho Eger's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The supporters of Goias booed when MI BR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonel Linares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 55 played minutes MI BR got a freekick which was hit by Afonsinho Eger. Severino Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Fernandes having to interfere. MI BR's Frank Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrício Vergílio in the 61st minute of play. Goias's André Vasconcelos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Goias from getting a goal against them. Fabrício Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Fernandes having to interfere. Fabrício Vergílio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Frank Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74thth minute of the game Severino Pereira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MI BR's Frank Fernandes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Severino Pereira put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Frank Fernandes. Frank Fernandes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Pereira's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Goias's Frank de Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Fabrício Vergílio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frank Fernandes. MI BR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabrício Vergílio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Goias walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
