Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leandro Sabóia in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oscar Mattos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristóvão Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Oscar Mattos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th match minute, Matador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilson Viana to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Matador's zone, Fellipe Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Mattos came out of the goal and Fellipe Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matador's Oscar Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Sabóia in the 30th minute of play. When the match had been going on for 42 minutes, Matador's Raphael Montenegro got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tony Lara. Leandro Sabóia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Mattos having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albertinho Cardozo to make the kick off. Cristóvão Negri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oscar Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After 95 played minutes Pinhel got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Monteiro. 96 minutes into the match, Raphael Montenegro notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Pinhel's Tony Lara. Tony Lara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Matador's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
