Turmalina's Juan Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mazinho Cerezo in the 3rd minute of play. Juan Fonseca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mazinho Cerezo went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Edu Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duarte Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Guatapora EC's goalkeeper Edu Senna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wellington Figueiredo. If Gilvan Camargo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juan Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mazinho Cerezo in the 21st minute of play. Juan Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilvan Camargo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Guatapora EC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Tostão Senna hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the game, Duarte Donatello recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edu Senna. Duarte Donatello showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Tostão Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Guatapora EC's goal looked a bit too open when Duarte Donatello came free, but Edu Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duarte Donatello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guatapora EC's Edu Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte Donatello in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Duarte Donatello to make the kick off. Duarte Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Guatapora EC's zone, Wellington Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edu Senna came out of the goal and Wellington Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ezequiel Donatello hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. If Mazinho Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edu Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Donatello in the 64th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Figueiredo in the 65th minute of play forced Guatapora EC's goalkeeper Edu Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wellington Figueiredo might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edu Senna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wellington Figueiredo ran back to his position shaking his head. Duarte Donatello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cícero Mineiro charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cícero Mineiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Turmalina's Víktor Rezende got a free kick in the 75th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Duarte Donatello notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Guatapora EC's Edu Senna. Edu Senna was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vitório Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Senna having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Fabrício Matorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Duarte Donatello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Duarte Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidnei Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Turmalina fans cheered their team off the field, for while Guatapora EC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
