The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Gaucha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mário Costa to maneuver through the defense. 8 minutes into the match, Gaucha's goalkeeper Valdemar de Lima had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Cabral. 10 minutes into the match, Gaucha's goal looked a bit too open when Fellipe Prata came free, but Valdemar de Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Gaucha's goalkeeper Valdemar de Lima had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Cabral. Valdemar de Lima made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Dito Netto sent off a good shot on target. Valdemar de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from D.J. Ribeiro in the 20th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Cabral got free with Valdemar de Lima in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute of the match, Walmir Leão tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Valdemar de Lima saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Gaucha getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. João Vítor Vergílio hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gaucha's zone, Nuno Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdemar de Lima came out of the goal and Nuno Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Walmir Leão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberto Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alberto Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar de Lima having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Alberto Cabral left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Narga FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Valdemar de Lima made an important save on a dangerous shot by D.J. Ribeiro in the 48th minute.

Gaucha's Valdemar de Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Cabral in the 52nd minute of play. Edmundo de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caetano Soeiro in the 54th minute of the match. Walmir Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Valdemar de Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Narga FC booed when Gaucha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerônimo Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, D.J. Ribeiro put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Valdemar de Lima. Valdemar de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmir Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 75th minute, Walmir Leão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Narga FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. If Walmir Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Alberto Cabral notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Gaucha's Valdemar de Lima. Valdemar de Lima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Maurinho Cosme hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. If Walmir Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the match, Dito Netto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdemar de Lima. Gaucha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dito Netto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0.
