Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Elivélton Bastos kicked off to start the match. After 2 played minutes Sallesopolis got a freekick which was hit by Elivélton Bastos. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgar Breckenfeld in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacinto da Silva saved Sallesopolis from getting behind. Eduardo Loyola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nildo Berger in the 8th minute of play. Jacinto da Silva made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Sérgio Travassos sent off a good shot on target. In the 14th match minute, Tobati SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Breckenfeld to maneuver through the defense. Eduardo Loyola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nildo Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the game, Juan Branco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sallesopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tobati SS the free kick. Tobati SS made a substitution. Donato Andrade replaced Edmundo Carneiro. The supporters of Tobati SS booed when Sallesopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacinto da Silva came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Tobati SS's Sérgio Travassos. But to his dismay, Sérgio Travassos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Edgar Breckenfeld who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Jacinto da Silva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Váldson Melo hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Edgar Breckenfeld could shoot a difficult shot in the 28th minute, which Jacinto da Silva however easily saved by the left post. 30 minutes into the match, Sérgio Travassos notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Sallesopolis's Jacinto da Silva. Jacinto da Silva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eduardo Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nildo Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Eduardo Loyola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elivélton Bastos in the 36th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Juan Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute Nildo Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgar Breckenfeld to make the kick off. Jacinto da Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato Andrade in the 57th minute of the match. Jacinto da Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Tobati SS's Eusebio Matteo got a free kick in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elivélton Bastos in the 72nd minute of play forced Tobati SS's goalkeeper Eduardo Loyola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tobati SS's Eduardo Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Váldson Melo in the 75th minute of play. If Faustão Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st match minute, Sallesopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Branco to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute Edgar Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto da Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Delfim Pinheiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jacinto da Silva. Sallesopolis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Tobati SS's Sérgio Travassos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacinto da Silva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Tobati SS's zone, Nildo Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduardo Loyola came out of the goal and Nildo Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sallesopolis's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
