In the 15th minute of the match Giandomenico Marchisio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adolfo de Senna showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 16th minute, Beto Dracena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grêmio FBPA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Beto Dracena in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adolfo de Senna saved Nado from getting behind. Adolfo de Senna came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio FBPA's Beto Dracena. But to his dismay, Beto Dracena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. When Esbjörn Andersson came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Grêmio FBPA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esbjörn Andersson couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Nado booed when Grêmio FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zézinho Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dito Simões charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dito Simões the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Nado getting a freekick after 32 minutes play.
