An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Luís Braga in the 16th minute of play forced Cavalo Crioulo FC's goalkeeper Armandinho Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armandinho Prado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrézinho Mineiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience held their breath when Rubinho Cardoso in the 30th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Armandinho Prado's left hand side. Gerardo Eufemio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fausto Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Armandinho Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Luís Braga in the 45th minute of play forced Cavalo Crioulo FC's goalkeeper Armandinho Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fausto Corrêa took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Armandinho Prado. Armandinho Prado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

52 minutes into the match, Mutunopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Luisito Brion came free, but Márcio Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cavalo Crioulo FC's Armandinho Prado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Cavalo Crioulo FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Mutunopolis's zone, Luisito Brion stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Márcio Veiga came out of the goal and Luisito Brion tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Falcão Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 67 minutes into the match, Luisito Brion notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Mutunopolis's Márcio Veiga. Márcio Veiga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tytus Matuch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Márcio Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Zézinho Torres fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mutunopolis's protests and gave Zézinho Torres a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Mutunopolis getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Zézinho Torres hit a great ball. Osmar Lago hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Armandinho Prado made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Pedro Luís Braga sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st minute, Andrézinho Mineiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Paulo Furlan kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After 83 played minutes, Cavalo Crioulo FC's Luisito Brion shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Márcio Veiga came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cavalo Crioulo FC reached it. Mutunopolis's Márcio Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisito Brion in the 84th minute of play. In the 87th minute of the game, Gerardo Eufemio landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Rubinho Cardoso fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mutunopolis's protests and gave Rubinho Cardoso a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cavalo Crioulo FC booed when Mutunopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubinho Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmílson Veiga might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Márcio Veiga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmílson Veiga ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 93rd match minute, Cavalo Crioulo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermínio Neiva to maneuver through the defense. Cavalo Crioulo FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
