Ademar Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcus Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Tião Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inhacora EC's Jairo Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Melo in the 11th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ademar Veiga in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jairo Macedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Eriberto Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Avaí Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Eriberto Correia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jairo Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Digo Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Tião Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Digo Vidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jairo Macedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ademar Veiga's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, Ademar Veiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcus Meirelles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Erik Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ademar Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Macedo having to interfere. Jairo Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Melo in the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Erasmo Zonta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erik Melo charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erik Melo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 43 minutes of play Avaí Futebol Clube's Erik Melo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Inhacora EC booed when Avaí Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcus Meirelles was the one to do the kick off. Jano Saraiva might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jairo Macedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jano Saraiva ran back to his position shaking his head. André Luís Oliveira hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Clemente Romero, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 64 minutes into the game, Digo Vidal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Tião Reis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 67 minutes into the match, Inhacora EC's goalkeeper Jairo Macedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jano Saraiva. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ademar Veiga in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jairo Macedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tião Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Digo Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ademar Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jairo Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Paranaense in the 88th minute of play. In the 89th minute Digo Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Avaí Futebol Clube's Telmo Paranaense got a free kick in the 90th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Inhacora EC's zone, Jano Saraiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Macedo came out of the goal and Jano Saraiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Inhacora EC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
