Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Luan Tasso made the kick off which started today's match. When Cruzeiro FC's Tibúrcio Paiva in 5 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Dagoberto Brasil guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. João Adolfo Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dagoberto Brasil having to interfere. Iacu's Dagoberto Brasil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tibúrcio Paiva in the 16th minute of play. If João Adolfo Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cruzeiro FC's Tibúrcio Paiva in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Iacu's goalie prevented a goal. Adalberto Abraão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Dagoberto Brasil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Carlos Britto's late challenge caught a Cruzeiro FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Carlos Britto helped the player get up and apologised. Zé Carlos Britto kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, João Adolfo Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzeiro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Adolfo Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dagoberto Brasil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Cruzeiro FC's Tibúrcio Paiva in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Iacu's goalie prevented a goal. In the 41st match minute, Iacu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Fontes to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tibúrcio Paiva in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dagoberto Brasil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Adolfo Luz during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd minute, João Adolfo Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luan Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tibúrcio Paiva was the one to do the kick off. If Luan Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fábio Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Dagoberto Brasil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61stth minute of the game Tibúrcio Paiva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iacu's Dagoberto Brasil was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Adalberto Abraão came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Cruzeiro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adalberto Abraão couldn't finish the play. Jairo Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kiko Garcia in the 64th minute of play. When Iacu's Kiko Garcia in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cruzeiro FC's goalie prevented a goal. 67 minutes into the match, Iacu's goal looked a bit too open when Tibúrcio Paiva came free, but Dagoberto Brasil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dagoberto Brasil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Adolfo Luz in the 74th minute of the match. Jairo Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kiko Garcia in the 75th minute of play. Dagoberto Brasil came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Cruzeiro FC's Tibúrcio Paiva. But to his dismay, Tibúrcio Paiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Iacu's Luan Tasso in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cruzeiro FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 86 played minutes Iacu got a freekick which was hit by David Fontes. Edgar Lago charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edgar Lago the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match was over Cruzeiro FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Iacu throughout the match.
