Angelo Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Josué Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Lombriga's goalkeeper Josué Vander had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramón Porto. After a defensive mix-up in Gesteira SC's zone, Zézinho Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Paulo Cardoso came out of the goal and Zézinho Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Paulo Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zézinho Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Luiz Paulo Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zézinho Fontes in the 27th minute of play. If Angelo Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giovanni Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Luiz Paulo Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zézinho Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. But to his dismay, Zézinho Fontes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Donatello Vinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Giovanni Sá to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Gesteira SC's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Cardoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zézinho Fontes. Angelo Passos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josué Vander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Gesteira SC booed when Lombriga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serginho Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 58 minutes of play, Gesteira SC's Angelo Passos made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Josué Vander was left in no man's land by his defense there! 62 minutes into the match, Lombriga's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Passos came free, but Josué Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ramón Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelo Passos in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josué Vander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 75th match minute, Gesteira SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donatello Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. Zézinho Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lombriga's Josué Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Porto in the 88th minute of play. Luiz Paulo Cardoso made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Zézinho Fontes sent off a good shot on target.
