The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Valdo Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerson Botelho having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gotas's Fernando Domingues got a free kick in the 5th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernando Domingues in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alejo Mitxaut saved VERONA E.C. from getting behind. 10 minutes into the game, Edson Campidelis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gerson Botelho. Edson Campidelis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Arce got free with Gerson Botelho in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 17thth minute of the game Valdo Cruz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gotas's Gerson Botelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When VERONA E.C.'s Valdo Cruz in 20 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Gerson Botelho guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 22nd minute Valdo Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerson Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Genílson Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Alejo Mitxaut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Arce blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gerson Botelho having to make a save. Alejo Mitxaut showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Domingues in the 34th minute of the match. In the 34th match minute, VERONA E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edson Campidelis to maneuver through the defense. After 39 played minutes VERONA E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Edson Campidelis. Danilo Pimenta kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdo Cruz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alejo Mitxaut showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genílson Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Gotas's Gerson Botelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Arce in the 52nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdo Cruz in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gerson Botelho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Gotas's Danilo Pimenta got a free kick in the 57th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Gotas's goal looked a bit too open when Ulisses Gerber came free, but Gerson Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute, Valdo Cruz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gerson Botelho was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Valdo Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Marquinhos Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Alejo Mitxaut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, VERONA E.C.'s goalkeeper Alejo Mitxaut had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Domingues. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Fernando Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gotas's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Domingues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alejo Mitxaut breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alejo Mitxaut showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genílson Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. 80 minutes into the match, Valdo Cruz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gerson Botelho. Gotas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valdo Cruz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 83rd match minute, Gotas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquinhos Pinho to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the game, VERONA E.C.'s Valdo Cruz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gerson Botelho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. The attack was good, but when Valdo Cruz in the 89th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Marquinhos Pinho hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the match, Valdo Cruz notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Gotas's Gerson Botelho. Gerson Botelho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Diego Arce struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Gerson Botelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VERONA E.C.. When the referee ended the match the VERONA E.C. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
