If Edvaldo Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the match, E.C Ribeiro Junqueira's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Schmidt came free, but Ernesto Sol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dagoberto Senna hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Claudio Artizar sped through Lagoao's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benjamin Rodrigues. Ernesto Sol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Nestor Vale hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Ernesto Sol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adelino Cruz in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edvaldo Castro was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Edvaldo Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 52nd minute, Ismael Guerra made a precise shot to the right of Benjamin Rodrigues. Lagoao's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Claudio Artizar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Rodrigues having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Ismael Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. E.C Ribeiro Junqueira's supporters rose to their feet, but Ismael Guerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamin Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ernesto Sol made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Dagoberto Senna sent off a good shot on target. Ismael Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Armando Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, E.C Ribeiro Junqueira's goalkeeper Ernesto Sol had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adelino Cruz. Ernesto Sol made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dagoberto Senna in the 79th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ismael Guerra in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjamin Rodrigues saved Lagoao from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Lagoao's zone, Ismael Guerra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Rodrigues came out of the goal and Ismael Guerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adelino Cruz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Ernesto Sol made a huge save. Adelino Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Edvaldo Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Sol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benedito Torres during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th match minute, E.C Ribeiro Junqueira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito Torres to maneuver through the defense. If Edvaldo Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
