After 47 played minutes Grossas SC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Pinho. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a rather tough play, Grossas SC's Agnaldo Negri got a free kick in the 53rd minute. If Osmar Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Conrado Campidelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Waldir Amorim hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Osmar Urbano struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Zacarias Goiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canavani. Zacarias Goiano was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Silvinho Massa. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ricardo Mesquita in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basílio Carioca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Agnaldo Negri fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grossas SC's protests and gave Agnaldo Negri a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Grossas SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! Grossas SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 98th minute, when Osmar Urbano scored to the left of an out of position Zacarias Goiano, making the score, 1-2. Canavani's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
