The crowd rose to their feet as Edu Lopes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nelson Sá. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. Nelson Sá was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cássio Paranaense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Nelson Sá made a huge save. In the 16th minute, Petropolis's Edu Lopes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. 18 minutes into the game, Jorge Mineiro lined in a short shot 4-0 behind a frustrated Nelson Sá. After some careless play in the Cavalcanti SC defense, Jorge Mineiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nelson Sá. The Cavalcanti SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nelson Sá should have stopped the shot. Jorge Mineiro took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nelson Sá. When Erasmo Pirani fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cavalcanti SC's protests and gave Erasmo Pirani a yellow card for diving instead. After 33 played minutes Cavalcanti SC got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Pirani. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-0 at half-time.

In the 96th minute, Edu Lopes made a precise shot to the right of Nelson Sá. Cavalcanti SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 10-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Petropolis fully deserved thier win.
