When Doriva Vides came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Araquari SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doriva Vides couldn't finish the play. Albertinho Saraiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gugu Varela in the 33rd minute of play. Luís Gustavo de Godoi struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Arthur Macedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.E.R. Caxias do Sul. Araquari SS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
