An unexpectedly hard shot by Gugu Garcia in the 3rd minute of play forced THE dogs's goalkeeper Jorginho de Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorginho de Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseu Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. THE dogs's Jorginho de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gugu Garcia in the 6th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Toninho Romero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. THE dogs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A. AMERICANA the free kick. After a rather tough play, THE dogs's Toninho Romero got a free kick in the 8th minute. Jorginho de Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulão Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. José Augusto Fontes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Otávio Figueiredo came out and tried to block the shot, but José Augusto Fontes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. 17 minutes into the match, THE dogs's goal looked a bit too open when Paulão Azevedo came free, but Jorginho de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duda Sabóia's late challenge caught a C.A. AMERICANA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duda Sabóia helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of C.A. AMERICANA booed when THE dogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duda Sabóia didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gugu Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the C.A. AMERICANA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gugu Garcia couldn't finish the play. The supporters of C.A. AMERICANA booed when THE dogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duda Sabóia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, THE dogs's goal looked a bit too open when Gino Gonçalves came free, but Jorginho de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 minutes of play THE dogs's Toninho Romero was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 23rd minute, Toninho Romero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorginho de Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulão Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Paulão Azevedo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of THE dogs's Jorginho de Castro. Jorginho de Castro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 35 minutes of play, C.A. AMERICANA's Gugu Garcia made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jorginho de Castro was left in no man's land by his defense there! 39 minutes into the game, C.A. AMERICANA's Gugu Garcia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jorginho de Castro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Jorginho de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseu Valladares in the 46th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, Gino Gonçalves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorginho de Castro. THE dogs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gino Gonçalves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulão Azevedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jorginho de Castro came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by C.A. AMERICANA's Paulão Azevedo. But to his dismay, Paulão Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. 59 minutes into the game, Eliseu Valladares recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jorginho de Castro. Eliseu Valladares showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. A throw-in in the 65th minute of the game was made by José Vítor da Cunha with Filipe Bueno as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After some careless play in the C.A. AMERICANA defense, José Augusto Fontes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Otávio Figueiredo. The C.A. AMERICANA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Otávio Figueiredo should have stopped the shot. Jorginho de Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseu Valladares in the 70th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Eliseu Valladares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorginho de Castro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-7. The supporters of THE dogs booed when C.A. AMERICANA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Vítor da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. 80 minutes in the game, Eliseu Valladares fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jorginho de Castro having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Filipe Bueno dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jorginho de Castro, 2-8. Through an outstanding action, after 87 minutes, Jorginho de Castro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Paulão Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulão Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, C.A. AMERICANA's Paulão Azevedo got a free kick in the 88th minute. If Cristóvão Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 97th minute, Cristóvão Oliveira made a precise shot to the right of Otávio Figueiredo. C.A. AMERICANA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-8. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched C.A. AMERICANA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
