S.E.Palmeiras's Felipe Capixaba got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frédson Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Arí Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frédson Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arí Veiga having to interfere. S.E.Palmeiras's Vitório Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Travassos in the 33rd minute of play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Insua SC's goalkeeper Arí Veiga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Capixaba. Vitório Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto da Costa in the 59th minute of play. Beto da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Vitório Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ramón Travassos fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Insua SC's protests and gave Ramón Travassos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Insua SC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Ramón Travassos hit a great ball. Nildo Nogueira charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nildo Nogueira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Arí Veiga, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a little luck, Insua SC's Arí Veiga got control of the ball when Felipe Capixaba tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Beto da Costa, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 85 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Vitório Paiva was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After having played for 87 minutes, Nildo Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Insua SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nildo Nogueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. S.E.Palmeiras's Felipe Capixaba got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ramón Travassos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Vitório Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the S.E.Palmeiras players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Insua SC.
