Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Manfredo de Amorim took the kick off in the first half of the match. Delfim Recife's late challenge caught a Caricaca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delfim Recife helped the player get up and apologised. In the 3rd minute, Delfim Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, E.C. Itajaí's Amílton Quadros got control of the ball when Eliézer de Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinei Vianna in the 10th minute of play forced Caricaca's goalkeeper Giovani Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giovani Novaes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manfredo de Amorim's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Eliézer de Senna's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Amílton Quadros firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, E.C. Itajaí's Noel Cosme got a free kick in the 27th minute. If Eriberto de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ezequiel Costa came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the E.C. Itajaí fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ezequiel Costa couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind E.C. Itajaí's goalkeeper Amílton Quadros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Giovani Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto de Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

In the 67th minute, Ezequiel Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mathias Borges in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amílton Quadros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amílton Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliézer de Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eliézer de Senna in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amílton Quadros saved E.C. Itajaí from getting behind. Artur Lopes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Amílton Quadros. E.C. Itajaí's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 81 minutes, Delfim Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. E.C. Itajaí's supporters crossed their fingers, but Delfim Recife was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ezequiel Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani Novaes having to interfere. Manfredo de Amorim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 86 minutes into the game, Ezequiel Costa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. E.C. Itajaí's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caricaca the free kick. With a little luck, Caricaca's Giovani Novaes got control of the ball when Manfredo de Amorim tried to sneak it across the goal line. Giovani Novaes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manfredo de Amorim's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Caricaca fans cheered their team off the field, for while E.C. Itajaí had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
