An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Antunes in the 22nd minute of play forced Genesio's goalkeeper Paulo Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guarama's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Vitinho Vides scored to the left of an out of position Rodriguinho Coelho, making the score, 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Guarama's zone, Vitinho Vides stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodriguinho Coelho came out of the goal and Vitinho Vides tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rafa da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Guarama getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Giovanni Alagoano hit a great ball. 46 minutes into the match, Zé Paulo Esteves notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Genesio's Paulo Lopes. Paulo Lopes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Paulo Esteves made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Guarama's Jardel Moraes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulo Lopes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. João Carlos Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. If Vitinho Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Paulo Esteves charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Genesio's Paulo Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Esteves in the 94th minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
