In the 42nd minute, Honorato's Ulysses Sergipano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Nico Novaes struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Romário Bittencourt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honorato. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 51st match minute, Canto EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adelino Rocha to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Nico Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honorato's supporters rose to their feet, but Nico Novaes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romário Bittencourt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ulysses Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Canto EC booed when Honorato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ademar Batista was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A well placed João Francisco Lago short distance shot in the 65th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Canto EC's goalkeeper Romário Bittencourt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Honorato's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lino Moreira fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 74th minute Nico Novaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romário Bittencourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romário Bittencourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulysses Sergipano in the 76th minute of the match. Romário Bittencourt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hudson Pontes's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. João Francisco Lago did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised João Adolfo Mota 87 minutes into the match. In the 91st match minute, Canto EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristóvão Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. João Adolfo Mota was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and João Francisco Lago capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. João Francisco Lago really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Canto EC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
