Alagoas's Wilian Damião got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Wilian Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toninho de Queirós got free with Júnior Rossi in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Toninho de Queirós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Júnior Rossi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilian Damião made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Alagoas's Wilian Damião sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Júnior Rossi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Wilian Damião came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Alagoas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilian Damião couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in AC Milan U18's zone, Wilian Damião stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júnior Rossi came out of the goal and Wilian Damião tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tiago Gabriel Vieira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 63rd minute. AC Milan U18's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Toninho de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Alagoas booed when AC Milan U18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the match, AC Milan U18's goal looked a bit too open when Toninho de Queirós came free, but Júnior Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiago Gabriel Vieira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Abel Vasconcelos made a huge save. Toninho de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júnior Rossi having to interfere. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind AC Milan U18's goalkeeper Júnior Rossi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 93 minutes into the game, Alagoas's Wilian Damião nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Júnior Rossi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the AC Milan U18 players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Alagoas.
