After some careless play in the Tamarati defense, Zé das Neves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgard de Mendonça. The Tamarati fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgard de Mendonça should have stopped the shot. Cotipora's Jacinto Paraense was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 22nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacinto Paraense in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgard de Mendonça prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jacinto Paraense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Cotipora booed when Tamarati was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacinto Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard de Mendonça having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jacinto Paraense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgard de Mendonça was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Tamarati's Ademir Carioca got a free kick in the 65th minute. When Américo Penha came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Cotipora fans jumped to their feet. Allan Simões's late challenge caught a Cotipora's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Allan Simões helped the player get up and apologised. Cotipora's Valdomiro Moreno was substituted for Zé das Neves. Allan Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Jacinto Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard de Mendonça having to interfere. If Valdomiro Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute Jacinto Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cotipora were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Tamarati's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luisinho da Fonseca took the corner. Luisinho da Fonseca made a great header on Cotipora's corner, it was just that Tamarati's Edgard de Mendonça managed to reach the ball for a save.
