The supporters of Fenix Zumbi booed when Petrovina EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luan Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serginho Guedes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 12thth minute of the game Zé Roberto Tróia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Petrovina EC's João Augusto Falcão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Serginho Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, Fenix Zumbi's goalkeeper Eduardo Marinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tião Ribeiro. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Serginho Guedes put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of João Augusto Falcão. In the 20th minute, Tião Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Serginho Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Augusto Falcão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Roberto Tróia in the 42nd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Fenix Zumbi made a substitution. Celsinho Seco replaced Luiz Eduardo Neiva. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Serginho Guedes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 72nd minute Tião Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 73 minutes, Marquinhos Moreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fenix Zumbi and the Petrovina EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vitinho Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Augusto Falcão having to interfere. João Augusto Falcão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute.
