Spectators: 6660 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the game, Macuripary EC's Sílvio Luís Furlan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juninho Ramalho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Evandro Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Genílson Donato fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Torreoes's protests and gave Genílson Donato a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 played minutes Torreoes got a freekick which was hit by Genílson Donato. A collision led to Torreoes getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Ademar Albuquerque hit a great ball. The supporters of Macuripary EC booed when Torreoes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christiano Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Macuripary EC's Celso Paranaense tried to score from far away in the 24th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Sílvio Luís Furlan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juninho Ramalho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Régis Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vânderson Maranhense in the 29th minute of play. Márcio Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Régis Santana having to interfere. When Ademar Albuquerque fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Torreoes's protests and gave Ademar Albuquerque a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dadá Braga in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juninho Ramalho saved Torreoes from getting behind. A collision led to Macuripary EC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Sílvio Luís Furlan hit a great ball. In the 40th minute Dadá Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Ramalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Torreoes's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Luís Furlan came free, but Juninho Ramalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Torreoes's zone, Sílvio Luís Furlan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Ramalho came out of the goal and Sílvio Luís Furlan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vânderson Maranhense made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Ademar Albuquerque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Régis Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márcio Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Allan Porto hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Dadá Braga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Sílvio Luís Furlan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Juninho Ramalho. That made the score 0-3 in the 67 minute of play. Dadá Bragas short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Juninho Ramalho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dadá Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sílvio Luís Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
