Rômulo Vargas was slow to take the kick. During this time Majuria's players had a chance to rest. Majuria's Rômulo Vargas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Almir Alcântara in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ediberto Gerber in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cássio Pernambucano saved Majuria from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernardo Pereira in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cássio Pernambucano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Bernardo Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ediberto Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio Pernambucano having to interfere. Hugo Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. A collision led to Majuria getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Hugo Silveira hit a great ball. After 24 played minutes Majuria got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Pereira. When Ediberto Gerber came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Medeiros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ediberto Gerber couldn't finish the play. After 26 played minutes Majuria got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho de Toledo. 32 minutes into the match, Majuria's Clóvis Paes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Almir Alcântara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 33 minutes into the game, Conrado Ramalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Majuria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Medeiros the free kick. Conrado Ramalho kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Medeiros's Ediberto Gerber slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cássio Pernambucano. That made the score 1-0 after 35 minutes of play. The tension between the Medeiros and the Majuria players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Medeiros's Tony Galvão got a free kick in the 78th minute. Almir Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clóvis Paes, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute Clóvis Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almir Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th match minute, Majuria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Guilherme Favoretto to maneuver through the defense. Cássio Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Majuria defense, Ademir Cerezo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cássio Pernambucano. The Majuria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cássio Pernambucano should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that Medeiros were the better team. Medeiros's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
