After a rather tough play, Macaubas's Christiano Pontes got a free kick in the 9th minute. João Vítor Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Michel Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 14 played minutes Danilo Fontes rounded Alegres AD's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. In the 19th minute, Narciso Terra reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ademir da Costa. The goal made the score 2-0. Danilo Fontes hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Alegres AD's Ademir da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Terra in the 25th minute of play. Ademir da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Terra in the 26th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Luiz Fabiano Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michel Mineiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Paulo José Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo José Berger to strike the kick off in the second half. Macaubas's Narciso Terra got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. During the 53rd minute of the match Paulo José Berger completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Paulo José Berger a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ademir da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Terra in the 55th minute of the match. Danilo Fontes hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Alegres AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Vítor Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th match minute, Alegres AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Vítor Sena to maneuver through the defense. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Narciso Terra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ademir da Costa having to make a save. Macaubas's Danilo Fontes quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luiz Fabiano Castro, made in the 88th minute of the game. After 91 minutes, Hermínio Dante mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alegres AD and the Macaubas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Christiano Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademir da Costa having to interfere. Macaubas's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
