Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bitaculo AD's Andrézinho Mello started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes of play, Espadim's Luisinho Sampaio made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Márcio Trigo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andrézinho Mello scored 1-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João Carlos Salgado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Bitaculo AD defense, Luisinho Sampaio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Márcio Trigo. The Bitaculo AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Márcio Trigo should have stopped the shot. Márcio Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belmiro Silva in the 21st minute of the match. Andrézinho Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, Rubinho Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute Luisinho Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Márcio Trigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belmiro Silva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Márcio Trigo having to make a save. After 33 minutes, Lenílson Freire mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Espadim and the Bitaculo AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Bitaculo AD booed when Espadim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lenílson Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Espadim's João Carlos Salgado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Espadim from getting a goal against them. After having played for 36 minutes, Belmiro Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Espadim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Belmiro Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Eugênio Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Márcio Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisinho Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Luisinho Sampaio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Márcio Trigo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. João Carlos Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho Mello in the 58th minute of play. João Carlos Salgado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andrézinho Mello went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. In the 88th minute, Pedrão Terra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 90th minute by Luisinho Sampaio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Belmiro Silva came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Espadim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Belmiro Silva couldn't finish the play. Márcio Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Silva in the 94th minute of play. Benjamim Baptista's late challenge caught a Espadim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamim Baptista helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Espadim booed when Bitaculo AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
