Tauatu Atletico Clube's Geraldo Vaz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Geraldo Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Nando Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronaldo Neiva might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nando Passos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronaldo Neiva ran back to his position shaking his head. SÃO JOSÉ RS's José Augusto Santana got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Geraldo Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Nando Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geraldo Vaz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nando Passos having to make a save. Tauatu Atletico Clube's Ronaldo Neiva got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute of the match Duarte Fantini sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nando Passos skillfully saved the ball. The Tauatu Atletico Clube fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Tauatu Atletico Clube's Ronaldo Neiva looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ronaldo Neiva took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nando Passos. Nando Passos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 35th minute Ronaldo Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nando Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Ronaldo Neiva put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Nando Passos. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronaldo Neiva to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes SÃO JOSÉ RS got a freekick which was hit by Cléber Vasconcelos. Ronaldo Neiva was extremely unlucky when he, in the 57th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Nando Passos came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Tauatu Atletico Clube's Ronaldo Neiva. But to his dismay, Ronaldo Neiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. After 62 played minutes SÃO JOSÉ RS got a freekick which was hit by Cléber Vasconcelos. Nando Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Neiva in the 65th minute of play. Ronaldo Neiva who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Nando Passos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ronaldo Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nando Passos having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Ronaldo Neiva took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Nando Passos to make any attempt to save it. Ronaldo Neiva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nando Passos having to make a save. Nando Passos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronaldo Neiva went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. A sloppy throw-in by Vítor Diniz in the 94th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Tauatu Atletico Clube's Carlinhos Gaspar. The SÃO JOSÉ RS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tauatu Atletico Clube's performance. The match ended with a win for Tauatu Atletico Clube.
