In the 11thth minute of the game Marco de Barros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Moiboada EC's Walmyr Donatello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Silas Vaz's late challenge caught a Bonzao SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silas Vaz helped the player get up and apologised. Silas Vaz hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Bonzao SS's Almir Passos couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 13th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Moiboada EC. In the 16th minute Egídio Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walmyr Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco de Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Walmyr Donatello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute João Francisco Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmyr Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Moiboada EC booed when Bonzao SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Téo Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmyr Donatello having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Moiboada EC's zone, João Francisco Monteiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmyr Donatello came out of the goal and João Francisco Monteiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Moiboada EC's Egídio Carvalho got a free kick in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Egídio Carvalho made a kick off. João Francisco Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Walmyr Donatello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roberto Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco de Barros in the 79th minute of play forced Moiboada EC's goalkeeper Walmyr Donatello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the game, Róbson Teles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Moiboada EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bonzao SS the free kick. After 80 played minutes Moiboada EC got a freekick which was hit by Róbson Teles. 82 minutes into the match, Moiboada EC's goal looked a bit too open when Marco de Barros came free, but Walmyr Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 90 minutes, Egídio Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moiboada EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Egídio Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Francisco Monteiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Walmyr Donatello made a huge save. João Francisco Monteiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Walmyr Donatello. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Francisco Monteiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Bonzao SS's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
