Geovanni Tande started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes AD OLIMPO got a freekick which was hit by Alex Pombal. After 4 minutes of play, Atlético Baianiense F.C's Armandinho Freire made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ulisses Pitta was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dorival Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Ulisses Pitta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Lino Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valério Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind AD OLIMPO's goalkeeper Ulisses Pitta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. AD OLIMPO's Geovanni Tande got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dorival Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Pitta having to interfere. In the 26th match minute, AD OLIMPO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé de Toledo to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the game, Atlético Baianiense F.C's Dorival Oliveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ulisses Pitta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Valério Peixoto came free with the goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Bruno da Silveira could save by the left post. Armandinho Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Atlético Baianiense F.C's Dorival Oliveira in 38 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Ulisses Pitta guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Bruno da Silveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugênio Souza in the 40th minute. AD OLIMPO's Ulisses Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorival Oliveira in the 45th minute of play. Armandinho Freire recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dorival Oliveira made a kick off. César Paraense's late challenge caught a Atlético Baianiense F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. César Paraense helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Atlético Baianiense F.C booed when AD OLIMPO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the AD OLIMPO defense, Dorival Oliveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ulisses Pitta. The AD OLIMPO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulisses Pitta should have stopped the shot. In the 61st match minute, Atlético Baianiense F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorival Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, Dorival Oliveira notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of AD OLIMPO's Ulisses Pitta. Ulisses Pitta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ulisses Pitta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dorival Oliveira went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. After having played for 86 minutes, Dorival Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Baianiense F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorival Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dorival Oliveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Lino Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute of the match César Paraense sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bruno da Silveira skillfully saved the ball.
