Spectators: 6651 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1651, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Luiz Fabiano Schmidt started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Capela's goal looked a bit too open when Freddie Pihlberg came free, but Gonçalo Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agnaldo Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Márcio Travassos, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. MENGOL's Luiz Fabiano Schmidt suffered a concussion in the 9th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Leopoldo Vergílio managed to get in a good position for a shot. MENGOL's supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Vergílio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo Barral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 21 minutes of play, MENGOL's Adelino de Souza made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gonçalo Barral was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Freddie Pihlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Márcio Travassos charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Márcio Travassos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 34 played minutes Capela got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Travassos. In the 35th minute, Freddie Pihlberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Márcio Travassos hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute Freddie Pihlberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capela's goalkeeper Gonçalo Barral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Agnaldo Santos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Capela's Armando Santos shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 44th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Agnaldo Santos but with some difficulty. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dalmo de Godoy made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalmo Mumbach in the 52nd minute of play forced MENGOL's goalkeeper Agnaldo Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonçalo Barral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddie Pihlberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, Capela's goal looked a bit too open when Freddie Pihlberg came free, but Gonçalo Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Dalmo de Godoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agnaldo Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Leopoldo Vergílio fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MENGOL's protests and gave Leopoldo Vergílio a yellow card for diving instead. Adalmo Mumbach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agnaldo Santos having to interfere. Agnaldo Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalmo Mumbach in the 71st minute of play. Dedé Amorim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th minute João Francisco Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agnaldo Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo de Godoy in the 84th minute of play forced MENGOL's goalkeeper Agnaldo Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Adelino de Souza put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Gonçalo Barral. Márcio Travassos hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. MENGOL's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
