In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Buracao's goalkeeper Armando Marinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Horma SC booed when Buracao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chiquinho Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júnior Ceresso hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute of the match Elano do Valle shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michel Xavier showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Buracao's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Aloísio da Cunha scored to the left of an out of position Armando Marinho, making the score, 1-0. The audience was convinced that Christian Cardoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Michel Xavier was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. If Aloísio da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aloísio da Cunha in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armando Marinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Armando Marinho made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Sandrinho Duarte sent off a good shot on target. If Sandrinho Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Buracao's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Aloísio da Cunha scored to the left of an out of position Armando Marinho, making the score, 2-0. Sandrinho Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Armando Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Horma SC's Aloísio da Cunha slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Armando Marinho. That made the score 3-0 after 46 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Aloísio da Cunha made the kick off in the second half. If Sandrinho Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aloísio da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Marinho having to interfere. If Raúl Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute, Chiquinho Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Buracao's Cássio Nóbrega got a free kick in the 60th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Horma SC's Moisés Severo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 70 minutes into the match, Buracao's goal looked a bit too open when Aloísio da Cunha came free, but Armando Marinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aloísio da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Marinho having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Buracao's zone, Sandrinho Duarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Marinho came out of the goal and Sandrinho Duarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Aloísio da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandrinho Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Marinho having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Horma SC fully deserved thier win.
