Jerônimo Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Faustão Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 8 minutes, Jerônimo Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dormida EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerônimo Arce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Dormida EC booed when Cassino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardinho Mandrak didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Manfredo Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 23rdth minute of the game Jerônimo Arce who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cassino's Faustão Pombal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cassino's zone, Jerônimo Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Faustão Pombal came out of the goal and Jerônimo Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nilmar Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jerônimo Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Faustão Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faustão Pombal came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Dormida EC's Jerônimo Arce. But to his dismay, Jerônimo Arce quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Sérgio Pinheiro struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Dorian Rossi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cassino. Dorian Rossi was a little too slow when Nilmar Sampaio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 1-1. Agenor Cerezo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Faustão Pombal having to make a save. In the 45th minute of the match, Renan Rossi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dorian Rossi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nilmar Sampaio to strike the kick off in the second half. If Nilmar Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Dormida EC defense, Renan Rossi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dorian Rossi. The Dormida EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dorian Rossi should have stopped the shot. Dormida EC's attentive José Cearense managed to snatch the ball when Douglas Toscano made a throw-in in the 64th minute of the game. Faustão Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Cearense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the game, Sérgio Pinheiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cassino's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dormida EC the free kick. A collision led to Cassino getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Sérgio Pinheiro hit a great ball. Faustão Pombal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerônimo Arce in the 74th minute of the match. With his leg Faustão Pombal managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Dormida EC's Jerônimo Arce fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Manfredo Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Faustão Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Agenor Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustão Pombal having to interfere. Jerônimo Arce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustão Pombal having to interfere. 87 minutes into the game, Zé Augusto Fernandez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dormida EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cassino the free kick. In the 87th minute, one of Dormida EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Dormida EC. Faustão Pombal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerônimo Arce in the 94th minute of play.
