The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Hélio Capixaba fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vitória S10's protests and gave Hélio Capixaba a yellow card for diving instead. 3 minutes into the game, Ceara Minha Paixão's Gil Abreu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luiz Fernando Cruz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 8th minute, Gil Abreu fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Luiz Fernando Cruz. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and Ceara Minha Paixão's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. 12 minutes into the match, Vitória S10's goal looked a bit too open when Sonni Lahti came free, but Luiz Fernando Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 15 played minutes Ceara Minha Paixão got a freekick which was hit by Lino Tavares. 18 minutes into the match, Vitória S10's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Cruz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gil Abreu. Cássio Antunes hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Luiz Fernando Cruz made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Gil Abreu sent off a good shot on target. Alessandro Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseu Vianna in the 27th minute of play. After some careless play in the Vitória S10 defense, Gil Abreu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luiz Fernando Cruz. The Vitória S10 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luiz Fernando Cruz should have stopped the shot. Eliseu Vianna's late challenge caught a Ceara Minha Paixão's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseu Vianna helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd minute, Eliseu Vianna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the match, Sonni Lahti notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Vitória S10's Luiz Fernando Cruz. Luiz Fernando Cruz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Gil Abreu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luiz Fernando Cruz. That made the score 4-0 in the 38 minute of play. If Dieguinho Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Vitória S10's Luiz Fernando Cruz got control of the ball when Gil Abreu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vitória S10's Luiz Fernando Cruz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Vitória S10 from getting a goal against them. When Danilo Rodrigues fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vitória S10's protests and gave Danilo Rodrigues a yellow card for diving instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gil Abreu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Gil Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sonni Lahti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Vitória S10's goal looked a bit too open when Sonni Lahti came free, but Luiz Fernando Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Eliseu Vianna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vitória S10 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Ceara Minha Paixão's attack was well implemented in the 67th minute, but when Gil Abreu was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Gil Abreu sped through Vitória S10's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luiz Fernando Cruz. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gil Abreu in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luiz Fernando Cruz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gil Abreu scored 6-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Fernando Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sonni Lahti in the 85th minute of play forced Vitória S10's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danilo Rodrigues hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Sonni Lahti kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Gil Abreu scored 8-1 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Fernando Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee ended the match the Ceara Minha Paixão players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
