Batovi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Batovi's Chiquinho Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dadá da Silva in the 6th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frédson Almeida in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Perivaldo Souza saved Pirina from getting behind. In the 14th minute, Enéas Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Batovi's Frédson Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Frédson Almeida came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Batovi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frédson Almeida couldn't finish the play. Tião Barbosa charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tião Barbosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Batovi's Tião Barbosa got a free kick in the 18th minute. When Pirina's Ernesto Saldanha in 25 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Chiquinho Nascimento guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Perivaldo Souza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enrique de Amorim went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Batovi's Chiquinho Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dadá da Silva in the 43rd minute of play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 72nd minute, Enrique de Amorim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Perivaldo Souza was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Enrique de Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Batovi's Chiquinho Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Saldanha in the 84th minute of play.
